Sliver is the stage between raw fibre and yarn: jute that has been graded, softened, batched, carded and drawn into an even ribbon, ready to be spun or to be used as fibre in its own right.
It is bought by felt and needle punch plants, automotive interior suppliers, and mills that blend jute with cotton or viscose. Because it never reaches our spinning frames, the weight is set to your grams per metre rather than to a yarn count.
